In a near-future America riven by hyperinflation, economic collapse, and social breakdown, seventeen-year-old Elliot Vreeland—son of a Nobel Prize–winning economist—suddenly finds himself orphaned and on the run when his family vanishes and federal agents begin rounding up “radicals.” As the government tightens its grip, Elliot plunges into the underground world of the Revolutionary Agorist Cadre, where he meets the enigmatic Lorimer and becomes caught up in a desperate struggle for survival and freedom. Amid black-market deals, clandestine resistance, and a society unraveling, Elliot must navigate danger, intrigue, and hope — perhaps even sowing the seeds for a true revolution. The novel combines the urgency of a thriller, the urgency of political revolt, and a compelling vision of counter-economic resistance.
Editorial Reviews
"It is a remarkable and original story, and the picture it presents of an inflation-crippled America on the verge of revolution is all too acceptable. A thrilling novel—crisply written—that fires the imagination as effectively as it stimulates the feelings.” —Anthony Burgess
"A cautionary tale with a disturbing resemblance to past history and future possibilities." —Milton Friedman
