Perelandra is the second novel in C.S. Lewis's "Space Trilogy," which began with Out of the Silent Planet and is concludied with That Hideous Strength. In this story, Dr. Elwin Ransom is sent to the planet Perelandra, also known as Venus, to prevent the demonic entity, known as the Un-Man, from tempting its innocent inhabitants. Ransom encounters the Lady, a counterpart to Eve in Earth's history, who is facing temptation orchestrated by the Un-Man. The novel explores themes of temptation, free will, and the battle between good and evil as Ransom strives to protect Perelandra from succumbing to darkness.
