Daniel Adams combines insights from both East and West to explore models and resources for contemporary theological life.  He examines theology from a cross-cultural perspective based on his direct experience with Chinese, Korean, and middle-class American cultures.  he focuses on Asia and the Asian contribution to the development of theology, writing not as an outsider but as a participant in the culture about which he writes.

His model leads to a new methodology for systematic theology...a new way to understand theology. His work is neither Eastern nor Western but a creative combination of contextual theology in process. His enlightening perspective is most valuable...giving today's scholars and students a foundation for understanding theology and missiology on a global basis. This work is especially helpful in our pluralistic world.

Editorial Reviews

"Will be useful not only in this country but also in the increasing numbers of theological schools spreading rapidly across the third world.  I will put it on my recommended reading list." --Samuel H. Moffett, Professor of Ecumenics and Mission, Emeritus, Princeton Theological Seminary

"This work comes out of Dan's rich experience with both the theology of the Western world and that of the Asian context.  He provides a thorough analysis of important theological issues from both perspectives and demonstrates the importance of the integration of theology from various viewpoints." --Clifton Kirkpatrick, Director, Global Mission Ministry Unit, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
