Man’s Search for Meaning is a profound psychological and philosophical classic in which psychiatrist Viktor E. Frankl reflects on his harrowing experiences in Nazi concentration camps and lays the groundwork for logotherapy, a healing approach grounded in the belief that the primary human drive is the search for meaning even in the face of unimaginable suffering. Frankl’s narrative seamlessly blends existential insight with personal memoir as he explores how individuals can discover purpose through responsibility, love, and courageous decision‑making, offering readers a timeless guide to resilience, dignity, and hope.

About the Author

Viktor E. Frankl (1905–1997) was an Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist, and Holocaust survivor best known for founding logotherapy, a major school of psychotherapy focused on the will to meaning as humanity’s central motivational force. After surviving the horrors of Nazi concentration camps, Frankl returned to Vienna, became head of the neurological department at the General Polyclinic hospital, and went on to become a celebrated clinician and lecturer at institutions around the world. His pioneering work cemented his place as one of the most influential figures in 20th‑century psychology and existential thought.
